Edison “the seven sceners” was held this time on the boat M/S Borgila @ Söder Mälarstrand in Stockholm/SWEDEN 18/7-20/7 2025. See boat link here: https://www.borgila.com/
“I said that I wanted to do the ANSI on the Amiga 500 anyway”
The former landlord raised the price for the earlier party place Eggeby farm close to the Järva field and the cost for the stereo was expensive but on M/S Borgila so was the stereo equipment included in the price.
So, after some looking around the EDISON crew decided to choose the boat M/S Borgila.
And that was a good choice because right before the party was held (Thursday 17/7-2025) you could read in the Swedish news that there was a fire in the Järva field and that there was old ammunition in the ground that could explode in the fire, So the EDISON crew was relieved that they didn’t choose Eggeby farm this year.
FRIDAY 18/7
The party action started for me (early in the morning 18/7-2025 helping the EDISON Crew as a volunteer with holding ladders, drawing cables, and other crew stuff like that, we in the party Crew eat pizza together after the work.

Party preparation done:
This picture shows the main hall and was taken right before the party was going to start on the Friday 18/7 2025 (Weyland to the left).
Guokte/Nukleus gave me some firstie impressions beeing onboard a ship:
- On the boat anchored @ Söder Mälarstrand it has the most beautiful view in Stockholm.
- Since the party took place during peak summer heat it was extra positive that the venue had a good air condition.
- Overall, it was a very good venue with a nice interior and a perfect size hosting all the participants without problem.
People dropped in, but for me I mostly remember carrying stoff for the crew, ladders, electricity connections and greeting people arriving.
Frost/Tulou^Triad wanted to borrow my computer for the Graphics duel compo starting 21 a clock (that he later came on 1st place by the way) with a cool monster, he needed to install a program on my machine and after the reboot I suddenly got hacked! (my Discord was unable to log in as usual) not Frost fault of course (well, by reading how you present this anecdote, Frost is a bad-bad boy 😉 /the Diskmag comm.).
But why?! Cliffhanger later on in this party report.
SATURDAY 19/7
This is the day when all yummy events took place. Deadlines and compos. Notice that there was no staying overnight, so party ended Friday and Saturday 02:00 am. Hotel or friends to stay over night.
Floating entertainment:
From left to right:
Platon42/DSR^Necta^TTE , Coreus (The Retro Spirit & Ericade Radio), DJ Daemon (Ericade Radio)

The fast graphics compo was designed by Browallia/NLS, and I brainstormed with him but this can be read H_E_R_E. But so much I can say that many liked the compo and started too work on something to contribute with, @ this time I was home sleeping, and believe me I needed the sleep.
The Ascii,Ansi and PETscii compo was great there was so well made Ansi graphics that was released in my (Smaugur) opinion see here: https://scenesat.com/videoarchive/RY1Eqx?t=32676#show-RY1Eqx
My personal favourite list is here (to the right the results from vote)
| 1. Paranormal Abduction by gr0gg0 / FCK | 1 |
| 2. Fallen by Almighty God / Atlantis | 2 |
| 3. Project Y by Velinje / TAONGAD | 4 |
| 4. Bad company by Burre / TAONGAD | 2 |
| 5. Amazing Borgila Facts by Zworp | 5 |
| 6. Seven Sceners by Fred / The Gang (Ascii) | 6 |
| 7. tGb by Haschpipan / The Gumpa Brothers | 7 |
^ so pretty much the same as the voters!
I after that I got inspired to do some ANSI on the Amiga 500, and I asked Sir Garbagetruck/ACC^BASS^PRC^RBBS^SSR^TTE which program to use on the Amiga 500?
And he asked me if I really needed to use a Amiga for the ANSI action?, because the new programs on PC is much easier to handle he explained, on a Amiga 500 if you should draw a line you have to do it one step at a time but on a PC you could draw a line with a simple tool in the program (To do ANSI on PC he said the best program is Moebius).
I said that I wanted to do the ANSI on the Amiga 500 anyway but thanked him for the tip, he said give me a ping and I will get back to you which program to use on Amiga 500.
(I now use Hyper ANSI on A500, so no need to ping).

Dressed for fancy dinner(?):
Sir Garbagetruck of ACC^BASS^PRC^ RBBS^SSR^TTE with some random people.
Then I met sceners from The Gumpa brothers (tGb). That is a PC-, C64-, and an Amiga 500 group, but mostly a C64 group and have been active on the Remedy parties many times. Haschpipa^tGb told me that Remedy is coming back in 2026.
Say cheese:

May I ask you a personal question? I see that you are drawing Churches on the Amiga 500 on GERP 2025 (see the GERP 2025 party report here) and now on Commodore 64 (Lowres Kyrka (Lowres Church on C64) 3rd place in the Oldschool graphics compo, are you religious?
Fred:
No, I am not religious, but I know people close to me that work on a church, and I think that churches overall are seen to little outside the church, so therefore I want to show them for the Demoscene.
The oldschool graphics compo winner was Get Up, You Lunatics! by Osmic made on (C64) the picture is a cool moon with zombies coming up from the ground.
See it here: https://csdb.dk/release/?id=254732
Back to that I got hacked and why I don’t want to blame Frost: Probably was it a fresh token stealer malware that I accidentally got on my computer when clicking on warez link some day before the EDISON party (I say fresh because I have an updated Anti-virus program and windows 11 pro with the latest updates on and the malware manage somehow to steal the token from Discord anyway).

MrBeast – gotcha:
spammed all my contacts with this image and some other pictures LOL!!
But the hacker didn’t stop the fun there, the hacker also kicked me out from scene.se server and managed to change my password in the party voting system Granola see link here: https://gitlab.com/granola-compo/granola that Edison have changed to from earlier Partymeister (https://www.pouet.net/topic.php?which=7547). That was a problem for me because Granola doesn’t have an option to recover the password, so therefore I was kicked out of the voting, dammit! The hacker has won this time! Well, I am glad that the hacker didn’t erase my hard drive or something like that.
Reason why the Edison crew has changed from Partymeister to Granola is that Partymeister was buggy and that the Edison staff could customize Granola for their own needs better, what I have heard from the organiser Snackiz. Also Partyman may be a future alternative.
In the Animation and video Compo this animation Sailing to Edison made by Coreus & Alpa/iNSANE^pROPER dISCO stand out in my opinion: https://scenesat.com/videoarchive/RY1Eqx?t=34773#show-RY1Eqx
For those of you who love the “Lord of the Rings” like myself, you will also love the winner Legend of Hyrule by Jok/Dreamweb in the Lowres Graphics compo here: https://demozoo.org/graphics/374985/ (there will be a final of that image he announced).
Desireble trophies:
16 categories for your hands and pleasure 😛

The prizes with the shapes of sailing boats, were once again made by Frost/Triad^Tulou.
The highlight was the demo competition. The winning demo in the Oldschool demo compo was “Zone 5” by Fairlight (C64). See it here: https://csdb.dk/release/?id=254716
Soin my opinion “Zone 5” was well made, but I could not stop thinking about Inside the Machine by Desire when I saw it. But I think the demo was a worthy winner of course it have very nice graphics especially the Commodore graphics that was a joy for me to see live on the big screen.
I also loved the demo “På tur med” (on a trip with) by Five finger punch (to ZX spectrum) (2nd place in the Oldschool demo compo) that was also an invitation demo for Compusphere 2025. See it here: https://demozoo.org/productions/374853/
You could participate live in a quiz with a QR code but many sceners didn’t manage to scan the code in time, (me included) but it was a fun/great idea that is taken from the well-known program (“På spåret” / “on the right track”) from Swedish television.
On 3rd place came Swedish Fintech by Belzubuffo Design Crew Inc. A (C64) demo it was fun to watch with the fat frog I enjoyed it a lot. A must see. See it here: https://csdb.dk/release/?id=254720
On 4th place came “Monster” by Woorlic . An Amiga AGA 060 demo right before the demo was going up on the BIG screen I shouted out AMIGAAAAAAA!!!!!!!! And a few other sceners did that as well, then some scener I think it was Mindcooler from Sys5 shouted PeeCee and ATARIIII just for fun! We all laughed of course!
Well monster was fun to watch because it was a long time I saw an Amiga 060 demo on the BIG screen, but it was a disappointment, it was a demo just for laughs and that was not what I hoped for this time. But I loved that it was an AGA 060 AMIGAAAAAA!!!!! Demo anyway!
On 5th place came “Craptro25” by Micken. Well, this 1k intro was always something for the ZX spectrum…, but the name says it all, hmm nuff said about that intro 😀
After the old school demo compo, I went home at around 01:00 just before the prize ceremony and closing cermony.
SUNDAY 20/7
I promised the party Crew to come back @ 10:00 am in the morning to continue the volunteer work on the Sunday and I needed the sleep, but because I got hacked, I stayed up with my computer to 03:30 am, but I did somehow get 6 hours sleep anyway and went back to the boat in Sunday morning 20/7.
Maybe cold beer/alcohol free beverages could improve was a comment out in the blue ocean 🙂
That’s all, oh hold your sails sailor! Edison-party will be back in 2026 (17-19th of July).

Yes! You are welcome! It took some time writing the Report, and the final editing was done by Browallia^nls, hope to see you next time too.
